today's toast

May those who love us, love us
And those who don't love us, may God turn their hearts
And if He doesn't turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles
So we'll know them by their limping

where is santa?

NORAD began tracking Santa’s journey in 1955 ... a Sears-Roebuck ad in a newspaper gave out Santa’s telephone number. Unfortunately, the number was misprinted and it rang CONRAD’s operations center. Instead of being a Scrooge, Col. Harry Shoup, who headed up the operation, told a child he’d check the radar.

allocation of scarce goods

Lessons in Love, by Way of Economics
by Ben Stein 7/13/08

High-quality bonds consistently yield more return than junk, and so it is with high-quality love. The data from the maven of bond research, W. Braddock Hickman, shows that junk debt outperforms high quality only in rare situations, because of the default risk.

In love, the data is even clearer. Stay with high-quality human beings. And once you find that you are in a junk relationship, sell immediately.
